At
the Innovation and Abstraction: Women Artists and Atelier 17 exhibition, Fuller’s Collage,
1944, and final state of Cacophony are both on view. Missing is the first state
clearly showing that the collage was used through soft-ground to help etch
those vegetable-bag strings into the copper plate. Many steps later the final
state has lace and net and all sorts of things giving a rich and intricate
surround for the figures.
